Tata Motors unveils the four new models that will spearhead its re-entry into SA
Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles (TMPV) has unveiled the four new models that will spearhead its re-entry into the South African market through distributor Motus.
They are the Harrier, Curvv, Punch, and Tiago, all rated with either four or five stars for safety under the Global New Car Assessment Programme.
TMPV has recorded solid global sales growth in recent years, scaling up from 170 000 units in 2020 to more than 560 000 units last year.
Speaking at the launch of the four models, TMPV MD Shailesh Chandra says the Indian brand is excited to bring its new-generation of vehicles to a market it believes values quality and innovation.
“With Motus as our preferred partner, we are confident in delivering a superior ownership experience that resonates with South African consumers and contributes meaningfully to the local economy.”
“This collaboration is not just about vehicles – it’s about building trust, delivering excellence and shaping the future of mobility in South Africa,” added Motus CEO Ockert Janse van Rensburg.
At launch, TMPV will operate through a nationwide network of 40 dealerships, with the goal to expand this to 60 next year.
